CERT Training Baseline
CERT provides basic disaster preparedness and response training to the public, free of charge. A typical CERT class includes 24 hours of training covering
- Disaster Preparedness
- The National Incident Management System (NIMS)
- Basic First-Aid
- Small-Fire Suppression
- Light Search & Rescue Techniques
- Disaster Psychology
- Terrorism Awareness
- CERT Organization
The class concludes with a practical exercise in which you'll respond to a simulated disaster to practice skills learned in the classroom.
